Sculptures
Josef Pánek, who owns and runs the garden centre, has devoted his life not only to horticulture but also to creating sculptures in wood, stone, iron and concrete. On the grounds, you can admire the symbolic stone vodník, a traditional Czech water-spirit figure that has become the patron of the garden centre, as well as many other works, including Buddha, Víla Amálka (The Fairy Amálka) or Svatý Jan Nepomucký (Saint John of Nepomuk).
Another notable work is the group of sculptures Ve spáru moci (In the Grip of Power), created in 2011 in response to events in Nová Ves nad Popelkou. The work attracted attention beyond the garden centre and is documented, for example, in the database Drobné památky.
Also worth mentioning is the group of sculptures Tesařova dílna (The Carpenter’s Workshop), which later found a new owner across the Atlantic in Dayton, USA.
